stories of facing everyday life with a quiet courage
historical middle grade to showcase the joys alongside the challenges of ordinary life
welcome, kindred spirit
Courage is hard for the quiet ones, and even harder when the kind of courage you keep finding in your safe place—in stories—feels unattainable.
For you or the quiet-natured girl in your life, it can be disappointing when yet another story depicts courage as something only bold, outgoing protagonists can achieve on big, heroic quests. Especially if you find yourself relating to that one soft-spoken side character far more than the main character again and again, you’re left feeling alone and wondering if maybe something about you has to change in order to be courageous like a main character.
I write to inspire quiet-natured girls that they can be main characters, too, because courage isn’t only found in facing big quests with a bold, outgoing personality.
The quiet ones are courageous, too. And they should be able to find stories with main characters who show them it is possible to embrace their own quiet nature and choose bravery in the everyday struggles.
a little about me
Quiet-natured myself, I’ve always longed for more books with protagonists who discover how to embrace their quiet nature and still step forward with courage.
Now I write historical middle grade stories to fill that longing, hoping to inspire young girls that having a quiet nature informs what you do, but never limits what you’re capable of.
